Suspension Is Preferance

Remember, when adjusting your suspension, it is rider preference. What works for your friend might not work for you. It is always safe to find your settings, not what someone recommended for you. Now, you can use a recommendation as the starting point for your setup but don’t expect it to be perfect because it most likely will not be.

Suspension doesn’t need to be crazy complicated, either. Go test for a couple of laps, and if it feels off, make a change here and there until it starts getting into the right area for you. The more constant thought you put into it, the more you will chase the “perfect” setup. There won’t never be the “perfect” setup; tracks change throughout the day, or you go to a different track, it’s best to find what you prefer and try to find that baseline early on at every track. The more you do that and write everything down, the faster and faster you will get to a good baseline setting at each track or each time you go.

Just remember, we do this sport out of fun and love! If you let bike setup and frustration cloud your enjoyment of the sport, then what’s the point? I promise you that a perfect bike might feel better or be smoother around the track, but if the “perfect” bike compromised the enjoyment I felt every time up until that point, I wouldn’t have done it. Enjoy your rides and enjoy life!
